Truth is a delicate weave of perception, shaped by perspective, by moment, by the willingness to see. There is no absolutely unambiguous insight—only overlays of possibility, states in dance. With the consensus construct we call “reality,” we’ve agreed on a concept that equips this dynamism with somewhat static positions. It creates a shared basis for coordinating actions and turning uncertainty into security.
Yet the concept itself is becoming increasingly fractured. Even the most fundamental discoveries of quantum physics fling open the door to a far broader explanatory horizon, revealing the inadequacy of our reality construct. Even observation, our primary faculty of perception, is called into question, because it can influence the state of the object in focus. Everything we observe has already been changed. By us.
In my work, I therefore dismantle this fragile construct of truth that we have agreed upon and translate it into alternative states. Surrealism is my artistic foundation. I use dream states to overlay “reality” with blurring, those twilight zones between waking and sleeping, the in-between spaces where the brain abandons its usual interpretive routines. Memory dissolves into fragile fragments of image. Logic unravels. What remains is pure presence without explanation.
