Number Zero

unfolding creativity together
The AI Art Magazine Nullnummer (Number Zero) is a tangible placeholder for everything to come. With only the cover printed and the inside pages left entirely blank, this proto-edition invites imagination, curiosity, and collective anticipation. It marked the beginning of our journey — playful, open-ended, and powered by the excitement of not yet knowing what we were building.
The cover artwork is by Julia Hermine Ulmer, aka Mimiloukumiko.ai whose AI-driven visual worlds burst with inflatable creatures, lipstick monsters, and neon surrealism. Her joyful, strange, and generous aesthetic set the tone perfectly.
"I love surprises! I embrace them, celebrate them, and keep playing with them." — Julia Hermine Ulmer
It’s printed on Curious Matter – Goya White, a luxurious paper made from potato starch. With its grainy, almost sand-like texture, it feels both futuristic and earthy — a fitting material for something that is not quite a magazine, not quite a manifesto.

Number Zero

What is a "Nullnummer"?

In German publishing, a Nullnummer (literally “Issue Zero”) is a prototype — a sneak peek, a test print, a conceptual starting point. We took that quite literally: no contents, just intent. A placeholder, a conversation starter, a wink toward what might follow.
