200 Years and Counting: Marking the Anniversary of Photography

200 Years and Counting marks the two hundredth anniversary of photography with a day of talks, a workshop, and film screenings addressing how artificial intelligence is reshaping photography and image culture, including a keynote by Kate Crawford, a workshop on adversarial AI art practices led by artist Bruce Eesly, and short films by Bruce Eesly, Daphéné Nan Le Sergent, Gala Hernández López, and Ryan S. Jeffery.

The program runs alongside C/O Berlin's exhibition The Lure of the Image and is organized by Sophia Greiff and Boaz Levin, the institution's co-heads of program.

Kate Crawford opens the day with the keynote "The Metabolic Logic of AI Slop," followed by Bruce Eesly's workshop "Adversarial Acts: Subversive Artistic Practices with AI." Two panel discussions follow: "Looking Back," with Michelle Henning, Susanne Kriemann, and Ryan S. Jeffery, moderated by Steffen Siegel, and "Looking Forward," with Florian Ebner, Annekathrin Kohout, and Armin Linke, moderated by Anika Meier. The day closes with an open-air screening of short films by Bruce Eesly, Daphéné Nan Le Sergent, Gala Hernández López, and Ryan S. Jeffery.
