After The Algorithm is a ten-day festival at Kulturhaus Helferei in Zürich that uses exhibitions, workshops and public conversations to open up a fact-based social debate on artificial “intelligence” beyond expert circles. The programme brings together international artists, researchers and decision-makers to explore how learning machines intersect with everyday life, hopes, fears and societal divides.
After The Algorithm (ATA Festival) promotes social debate around artificial “intelligence” through encounters between experts and the wider public. From 20–29 March 2026, international artists and researchers present their work at Kulturhaus Helferei in Zürich, while workshops and panels address the societal implications of learning machines together with stakeholders from politics, business and public administration. The festival responds to an emerging “AI divide” in which technical misunderstandings, myths, hype and specialised language separate professionals and the general public. Using the playful tools of creativity and research, ATA Festival aims to foster responsible and reflective uses of AI, connect expertise with lived hopes and fears, and create a shared space where different parts of society can meet at eye level.
