Over four days, The Robotic Atelier transforms Goldsmiths into a working laboratory for robotic and computational creativity, where visitors encounter machines that draw, paint, and perform in real time alongside their human collaborators.
The program opens with an exhibition private view at Hatcham Church Hall (April 16, 18:00–21:00), followed by a full-day symposium and guided exhibition tour (April 17, 10:00–18:00) and a weekend of live robotics and machine-based art (April 18–19, 10:00–18:00).
Works developed within the EACVA residency show how embodied agents, robotic arms, and custom drawing systems can extend artistic practice, turning gesture, movement, and data into evolving images. By opening the studio-like environment of the Draw-lab to the public, The Robotic Atelier invites audiences to reflect on authorship, control, and care when art is produced in collaboration with machines.
