FWB FEST is a multi-day event at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, combining live music, talks, and workshops with a focus on emerging technology and culture. The festival features concerts across several venues on campus, lectures and discussions on technology and society, and interactive experiences. It is open to both members and non-members.
The event consists of live music performances, lectures, dialogues, and workshops. Music programming is spread across four stage environments: the Amphitheatre, Envelop (360° immersive sound), Rush (club nights), and Sunset Rock (nature and machine soundscapes). Previous editions have included artists such as Charli XCX, James Blake, Oneohtrix Point Never, Sudan Archives, and Yves Tumor, as well as speakers like David Rudnick, Taylor Lorenz, and Yancey Strickler
The festival includes interactive experiences and daily wellness activities. Since 2022, FWB FEST has brought together creatives, technologists, artists, and others interested in the cultural applications of emerging technology. The event is designed as both a music festival and a tech conference, with programming that addresses the intersection of technology and culture.
