In Other Forms brings together new works by Angela Ferraiolo, Blinn and Lambert, Michael Candy, Testu Collective, Wendi Yan, and Zeena Parkins at Harvestworks’ Art and Technology Program on Governors Island.
Curated by Ivana Dama, In Other Forms asks what happens when form no longer holds still. Its own framing text describes work made through autonomous machines, computational life, speculative biology, sound, light, and electromagnetic fields.
Angela Ferraiolo presents two works from her ongoing series Nine Forms. "In Nine Forms, a series of evolving meshes develops its own forms of intelligence through the interaction of shape, memory, and behavior," she writes. "As their bodies transform, their shapes condition their decision making and lead them to become more complex and individual."
