Synthetic Fever is a thematic group exhibition at the Coreana Museum of Art in Seoul, presenting around 30 works across photography, painting, and media installation. The exhibition examines the possibilities and limitations of generative AI-a rapidly evolving technology that is increasingly shaping daily life. Drawing inspiration from Jacques Derrida’s Archive Fever, the show explores how AI’s generative mechanisms and the cultural fervor around artificial intelligence are transforming creativity, subjectivity, and the role of the artist. Key themes include data extraction and bias, AI hallucinations, human–machine collaboration, and the “ghost work” behind AI systems. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the profound shifts AI brings to society, culture, and the concept of art itself.
