Workshop: Building an AI Curator—
Training and Experimentation

April 24th
3-6 pm
Node vienna

Please prepare the following accounts for our workshop. Discord and ChatGPT are really good to have — GitHub and Netlify are optional, but they’ll make the workshop more fun (and no coding is required).
If you'd like to train your own AI curator, feel free to bring 20–50 images of your choice. And don’t forget to bring headphones — some tasks include audio.
_1 Discord
Discord is a communication platform designed for group exchange. It brings together chat, file sharing, and topic-based channels in one place. Originally used by gaming communities, it’s now widely adopted by creative and educational groups to support collaborative work.
Discord helps us keep the workshop organized and connected. You’ll find materials, links, and instructions there — structured into channels that follow the flow of the session. It also creates space for questions, sharing, and informal exchange during the process. The channel will remain open after the workshop if you wish to revisit resources or continue the conversation.
_2 ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a conversational interface powered by artificial intelligence. It generates text in response to written input and is used across fields like writing, education, programming, and design. The tool supports ideation, language refinement, and creative exploration — entirely through natural language.
ChatGPT will accompany us as we write and reflect on curatorial prompts. It helps us shape language, shift tone, and test how our ideas resonate. Whether we’re drafting from scratch or revising details, it offers a responsive space to think through words.
_3 GitHub
GitHub is a platform for hosting and versioning digital projects. It is commonly used in software development but also serves as a collaborative tool for managing files, tracking changes, and publishing work. Projects are organized in repositories, which can be public or private.
GitHub helps us store and organize the files for our curator prototypes. It allows us to prepare our work for publishing, keep track of updates, and connect with other tools like Netlify. We won’t be writing code — just using GitHub as a simple and reliable way to structure what we’re building.
_4 Netlify
Netlify is a web publishing service that turns folders into live websites. It is designed to simplify deployment by connecting directly to platforms like GitHub. Frequently used by developers, designers, and educators, it offers a fast and code-free way to share projects online.
Netlify enables us to publish our prototypes and make them accessible on the web. By connecting it to our GitHub repositories, we can deploy live versions of our curator tools with just a few clicks. This lets us test, share, and present our work in a real-world context — no technical setup needed.
