Where do you locate yourself in relation to the systems you work with?

I work at the fault line between human imagination and machine intelligence. My practice lives in the tension between control and surrender — part designer, part storyteller, part negotiator of systems. I stand close enough to AI tools to use them as extensions of instinct, yet distant enough to question their biases and aesthetics. My position is built from past fragments — branding, game art, visual culture — recombined into a new, evolving form.

Where are you heading, and what is pulling you there?

I am moving toward hybrid worlds: image, motion, sound, character, and narrative fused into one living ecosystem. My direction is driven by experimentation and emotional resonance — pushing AI beyond surface aesthetics into themes of memory, mythology, fear, and transformation. I resist the flattening pull of generic AI visuals. My trajectory insists on specificity, culture, and authorship.

How would you describe the space your practice is currently unfolding in?

My practice unfolds in a shifting, elastic space shaped by the systems I collaborate with. It’s a lab, a playground, and a myth-engine. The space mutates as tools evolve — bending around prompts, models, failures, and breakthroughs. It’s porous, messy, alive. A terrain where monsters, metaphors, and personal symbolism coexist. A space constantly rewritten by technology and reclaimed by human intention.

AI Art experience

What excites me most about integrating AI into my art is the limitless creative possibilities it offers. AI allows me to push beyond traditional boundaries, generating intricate, complex designs that would be difficult to create manually. It acts as a collaborative tool, sparking new ideas and helping me explore unique concepts, all while speeding up the creative process. The fusion of human creativity and AI innovation opens up a whole new realm of artistic expression.

Personal experience

My personal experiences greatly influence the AI art I create, especially my background in design and fascination with technology. Growing up in an era where technology has rapidly evolved, I've always been drawn to how it impacts our lives, and that’s reflected in my work. My involvement in gaming also inspire the fusion of futuristic and surreal elements in my art. AI allows me to channel these experiences, translating them into complex, imaginative visuals that merge human emotion with technological themes.

Unexpected thought

The most unexpected thought my art generation has led me to is realising how AI can reflect human emotions and subconscious ideas in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Sometimes, the AI produces visuals that feel deeply personal or provoke emotions I didn’t consciously aim for. It’s almost as if the AI is tapping into abstract connections that exist in my mind, bringing out hidden layers of meaning or emotion that I hadn’t initially intended. This has made me rethink the boundaries between creator and tool, and how AI can amplify our inner creative impulses.

Description

My artwork is inspired by the intersection of humanity and technology. The artwork visually represents the intricate and overwhelming relationship we have with machines and the ways in which they infiltrate our lives, both mentally and physically. The person in the artwork, with their head entangled in an elaborate network of devices, reflects the burden and dependency we often experience with technology. Yet, there's also a beauty in the complexity—how machines become extensions of ourselves. I wanted to explore the idea of how technology shapes our identity and thoughts, questioning whether we are controlling the machines, or whether they are beginning to control us.

Process

I used Midjourney to create this AI-generated art, with ChatGPT assisting in refining the ideas and concepts. The AI produced intricate, futuristic elements that capture the complexity of machinery, and I further refined the prompts to ensure they aligned with the overall theme, seamlessly blending technology and creativity."

Tools

I used 'Midjourney' to generate the image and then enhanced/upscaled in 'Leonardo AI'
