Description
This work is about crafting the joy we get from nature.
Process
I was moved to explore a process where I create abstract textures and looks in 3d. Then build an AI model from them and explore nature-based imagery that creates and bridges a connection between digital and life.
Tools
c4d. Redshift. Krea AI. Flux.
Creativity is sprinkled throughout humanity, equally distributed among all of us. However, the tools and education necessary to transform that creative spark into tangible artistic expression have remained exclusive to this day. For decades, digital art software has gradually evolved, promising greater accessibility, but complex interfaces and costly economic investments in hardware and software continue to prevent many voices from participating in the creative industry. PJ has witnessed the evolution of creative technology over the past two decades, both as a creator and creative director, savoring the sweet and bitter aspects of both facets, and we believe it was only a matter of time before a new type of tool emerged that would finally enable creative production in a truly democratic way.
That moment has arrived. This is precisely why generative AI represents such a revolutionary change in creative practice. With nothing more than a phone and internet access, anyone can now transform ideas into visual reality, allowing creativity to function as the muscle it always should have been: one that strengthens through constant exercise. The true power of AI lies not in automating creation, but in building bridges between the simplest idea and the most ambitious vision.
This creative freedom is directly reflected in PJ’s work. His creative process diverges and flows within an immense spectrum, which is why the conventional software tools available lost their appeal for him long ago. Now, working in conjunction with 3D and AI tools, the visual piece presented embodies a tactile, almost sculptural quality that easily confuses the human eye, oscillating between organic natural matter and a visual glitch. While the eye seeks to make sense of the materiality, the harmonic movement of color subtly assembles the image.
This new creative reality presents a promising horizon. We hope this democratization will only be threatening to software companies, who will feel compelled to innovate their interfaces, and to hardware companies, who will need to develop more accessible and competitive products, truly pursuing the ideal of extending access to more and more creatives. We are witnessing the emergence of a more diverse landscape where generative AI and traditional software will coexist, each serving different projects and intentions, finally fulfilling the promise of making creativity accessible to everyone.
